Health

Our fourth goal is to increase the number of health screenings, referrals, and resources for children birth through third grade in Tupelo and Lee County.

Our coalition’s strategies to meet this goal are:

  • Provide information and materials to educate and inform families about health and safety issues and distribute these materials at community events.
  • Provide information to the community about early intervention services.
  • Coordinate the Early Childhood Coalition’s participation in an annual community wide children’s health fair focusing on children ages 0-5.
  • Update and distribute Community Resource Guides, including ensuring that NMMC Women’s Center is adequately stocked for distribution to parent of newborns and placing resource guides at locations such as Children’s Clinic, El Centro, Catch Kids, Salvation Army, Health Dept., Library, Tree of Life, etc.)
  • Work with our Resource Centers to provide community access to educational materials.
